Making a New Mail Account
Outlook

Here is a step by step guide showing you how to make a new mail account in Outlook in Windows.

1. Open Outlook..

Step 1
1. From the Outlook Window, click onto the Tools menu and select Email Accounts.

 

Step 2
1. Select the Add New Email Account (or Edit if changing previously entered details)

2. Click the Next button.

Step 31. Select POP3

2. Click the Next button.

 

Step 4

1. Type in your Name

2. Yype in your email address. (For new users this is your User Name with @yourdomain.com.au after it).

3. Type in your User Name in the User Name box. (The User Name is your FULL email address.)

4. Type in your password in the Password box.

If the password box is greyed out then put a tick in the Remember Password box so that you can type in your password.

Please check that the User Name you type in is not in the wrong capitalisation because User Names and passwords are case sensitive. The password you type in shows up as a bunch of stars to keep it private.

5. Type in mail.yourdomainname.com.au for the Incoming mail server.

6. Type in mail.yourISP.com for the Outgoing mail server.
Here is a list of the mail servers of some of the bigger ISPs in Australia:
- BigPond: mail.bigpond.com
- Optus: mail.optusnet.com.au
- iPrimus: smtp.iprimus.com.au
- TPG: mail.tpg.com.au

- Internode: mail.internode.on.net.au
- IINET: mail.iinet.com.au

7. Press "Test Account Settings" and see if you are able to send and receive emails

11. Click the Next button, and you are finished!
